Grand Canyon Rafting – One Day Whitewater Rafting
Ahhh, rafting in the Grand Canyon. I remember taking my One Day Whitewater raft trip on Halloween in 2006. This is the only way to go Whitewater Rafting in the Grand Canyon in just one day.
We checked in at the Hualapai Lodge at 7:30AM in the morning before taking the 19 mile van ride down Peach Springs Wash to Diamond Creek. It was fun to descend down into the Grand Canyon with a Hualapai van driver who could tell us about his Native traditions and about the Hualapai people.
We then embarked on our One Day Whitewater journey into the Grand Canyon, stopping for a side hike to a travertine waterfall after navigating several rapids.
Soon after, we pulled over to a beach and enjoyed a box lunch while watching the Colorado River.
Finally, we took a Helicopter to the top of the Grand Canyon at Grand Canyon West…where another van driver drove us back to Peach Springs, Arizona.
